I Got “Tricked!”

So there is this funny story where I asked my business partner,  “Hey Charles, how do I get an All-Star LinkedIn profile? I built it up, I add a lot of elements, listed my education, work experience, got my picture up.. I even contributed by writing articles!”

And he told me… “Weird, you should be all-star already…”

I was not convinced, because of this little tricky icon!

The All-Star status graphic icon has this gap that makes it seem like you’re not 100% “All-Star” yet… actually, it’s just LinkedIn’s way of telling you there is always room for improvement 😉 You’re already at all-star if there is an icon that says “All-Star”.

Sneaky sneaky!! But cool to know.

All-Star Criteria

What does it take to achieve a perfect LinkedIn profile that ranks All-Star profile strength?

  1. Your location and industry
  2. A detailed current position
  3. At least 50 connections
  4. Your education
  5. Your skills (minimum of 3)
  6. A real profile photo
  7. Two past positions you’ve held

No idea how to achieve 50 connections when you only have 10 colleagues?

No clue on how to take the best-performing profile photo?

No problem.
